Brody

Brody, a young Goldendoodle puppy, was a complete whirlwind of energy. His owners had previously raised an older Goldendoodle who was easygoing and naturally well behaved, so when Brody joined their family, they were completely caught off guard.

Everything felt harder this time.

Brody struggled with nonstop barking, constant jumping, biting, and an inability to settle. He would tear holes in clothing, overwhelm the household, and seemed to be in constant motion from the moment he woke up to the moment he went to bed. There was little to no obedience, and his energy quickly turned into chaos.

What once felt like an exciting addition to the family began to create stress and tension, especially with children in the home and an older dog who did not match his intensity.

Brody needed to learn not just what to do, but how to slow down.

Through consistent training and clear expectations, he began to understand boundaries and how to exist calmly within his environment. We worked through his demand barking, teaching him how to self soothe rather than constantly seek attention through noise and chaos.

Crate training became a key part of his progress, helping him learn how to relax and decompress. Over time, he went from being unable to settle to calmly resting and resetting when needed.

As his obedience improved, so did his behavior at home. Brody learned how to coexist peacefully with the older dog, interact appropriately with the family, and navigate daily life without overwhelming everyone around him.

By the end of his program, Brody’s transformation was undeniable. His obedience is now flashy, reliable, and responsive. He can hold extended place commands even during high distraction situations like family gatherings, food being present, or football games on TV.

He no longer terrorizes the household and instead fits seamlessly into it.

What once felt like chaos is now structure. What once felt overwhelming is now manageable, enjoyable, and even fun.

Brody’s story is a reminder that not all dogs are easy, but with the right guidance, even the most challenging puppies can become incredible companions.
