Help us raise, train, and place a life-changing service dog from the very beginning. Through our Liv & Lo Funded Service Dog Program, your support goes directly toward the care, development, and professional training of a future service dog, giving someone in need the opportunity for greater independence, safety, and confidence.

About the Program

The Liv & Lo Funded Service Dog Program is a separate initiative from our client-paid training services, created to fully fund the development and placement of a service dog from start to finish. Through this program, a carefully selected dog is raised, trained, and prepared to meet the highest standards of service work, with the goal of being placed with an individual in need.

From early foundation and obedience to advanced public access and task training, each dog is developed through a structured, professional process tailored to real-world reliability and long-term success. Throughout their journey, the dog receives consistent care, enrichment, and exposure to a variety of environments to ensure they are confident, stable, and capable in their role.

This program is designed to make service dogs more accessible by allowing the community to support the full development of a future service dog. Once training is complete, each dog is thoughtfully matched and placed based on the needs, lifestyle, and goals of the handler, with continued guidance and support provided to ensure a successful transition.

How It Works

1. Funding Goal Is Opened
A funding goal is established to fully support the development of a future service dog, covering everything from initial acquisition to advanced training and care.

2. A Candidate Is Carefully Selected
Once funding is reached, a puppy or young dog is selected based on temperament, health, and overall suitability for service work.

3. Structured Training Begins
The dog undergoes a comprehensive training program, including foundational obedience, public access skills, and specialized task training tailored for real-world reliability.

4. Ongoing Development & Evaluation
Throughout training, the dog is continuously evaluated to ensure they meet the standards required for service work, while also receiving proper care, socialization, and enrichment.

5. Thoughtful Placement & Continued Support
Once fully trained, the dog is carefully matched with a qualified handler. Guidance and support are provided to ensure a smooth transition and long-term success for both dog and handler.

Your support helps fund every stage of a service dog’s development, from initial selection through advanced training and placement. Each contribution goes toward the care, structure, and professional work required to develop a reliable, well-trained service dog.

We are committed to maintaining a high level of honesty and transparency throughout the Liv & Lo Funded Service Dog Program. This program is designed to support the development of a future service dog, and contributions are made with an understanding of the process and its variables.

  • Program-Based Support
Contributions support the program as a whole and are not tied to a specific guaranteed outcome, individual dog, or placement.

  • Training Is Not Guaranteed
Not all dogs successfully complete service dog training. Each candidate is continuously evaluated to ensure they meet the standards required for service work.

  • Candidate Changes
If a dog is not suitable for service work, contributions will be applied toward the development of a new candidate or another service dog in training.

  • Placement Decisions
Final placement decisions are made at the discretion of Liv & Lo Canine Academy to ensure the best possible match between dog and handler.

  • Non-Refundable Contributions
All contributions are final and non-refundable.

  • Not Tax-Deductible
Liv & Lo Canine Academy is a for-profit business. Contributions are not tax-deductible.
